How to Plan for A New Kitchen?

Published by at under Kitchen

There’s a lot of things to consider when you choose to put a new kitchen into your home.

It can be expensive and time consuming, and obviously all the while your kitchen is out of action you’re going to have to come up with an alternative place to cook and prepare your meals.

kitchenWithout planning ahead you could easily find yourself in a very awkward position

You would be spending more than you intended and perhaps ending up with something entirely different from the bespoke kitchen you had in mind just because you can’t wait any longer for those custom cabinets to be delivered or for the unique granite work surfaces to be hand crafted.

It’s all about putting together a detailed budget and a timeframe, looking at delivery slots and working out how to create minimum disruption to your day to day life.

Start with the budget because without this you won’t be able to make any further plans.

While more money won’t necessary speed anything along, it’s good to know that if something comes in slightly more costly than you had anticipated that you won’t have to scrimp towards the end of your installation.

This means that you need to allocate funds to the entire project, from design and fitting your bespoke kitchens to the raw materials which you choose to have it constructed from.

While many think they can cut costs by installing the kitchen themselves rather than getting in professionals, this can at best take considerably longer and mean that you require time off from your day job.

At worst, you could put something together wrong and have to end up getting in professionals ultimately anyway, or even damaging some of your brand new kitchen.

Make sure you measure the room thoroughly, especially if you’re having cabinets made. This will look great assuming that they’re the right size.

With anything bespoke there is the option to make adjustments if need be but you will not just be able to return to store if something doesn’t quite fit as you envisaged.

Make sure your bespoke kitchen is perfect by planning every last detail. It can help to get swatches of materials you will be using, and even to build a scale model of your plan to make sure everything is going to come together as you imagined.

Bespoke kitchens can be incredible when done right, so make sure you don’t rush and ruin anything.
